Our Story

Our practice was established as Direct Dentures in 1995, by founder Nick Peacock. Nick is the 3rd generation of dental technicians in his family, who have provided dentures for over 100 years. Nick now has over 50 years’ experience.  Nick’s goal from the very beginning was to provide his patients with a professional and friendly service, that he felt they deserved.

Amanda Benson joined the practice in 1998, and is a vital part of the dental team. Amanda has helped push the practice forward and manages the general running, and day-to-day activities of the practice.

In 2011 Nick was one of the first people in the UK to receive a distinction diploma, in Clinical Dental Technology, at The Royal College of Surgeons. Amanda quickly followed him two years later, qualifying in 2013.

In 2012 we decided to change the name of the practice, to reflect our journey through qualifications and the new services we now provided.

After careful consultation with our patients – ‘Smile on the Square’ was born.

In 2017 we teamed up with the award winning practice – The Burley Dental Suite, and built our own surgery here at Smile on the Square. We feel proud to mention that our dentists have undergone extensive post-graduate training, which allows us to perform at the highest level, ensuring you receive the best dental care possible.

In February 2020 Dr Nikolas Stoy joined the team. Nik is our very own, award winning Principal Dentist. Nik is an extremely talented dental surgeon, with specialist knowledge in orthodontics and implantology. Nik’s approach to dentistry is a holistic one, where beautiful life changing smiles are built on solid foundations. We are very proud of Nik here at Smile on the Square.
